IPT-Series (TE)

The IPT Series by TE is a high current screwed connector for powertrain applications in high vibration environment, up to 300A (depending on wire cross section) at 105°. It is used e.g. to connect inverter to e-machine and charging applications. The sealed and screwed connector system with an 180deg cable outlet incorporates one, two or three (1-2-3 pos) ring tongue contacts. The connector system incorporates 360deg conductive EMI shielding sleeve to reduce radiated emissions in the application. The IPT housing is screwed and fixed to the aggregate into a threaded blind hole. The housings are moulded in orange to denote a high voltage system.

An IPT system consists of the following components:

Plug housing: The housings are available in different numbers of poles and codings.
Shielding sleeve (2141810-X): The shielding sleeve has to be selected depending on the cable diameter. Please note that different cable manufacturers have different cable diameters for the same cable cross-section!
Ring Tongue (x-2177380-X): This is offered galvanically tin-plated or nickel-plated.
Contact Kit (2141809-3): This is an assembly of a contact body and a spring. It fits cross sections 25 – 50 mm2.
Anti Rotation Safeguard (optional) (2177526-X): An optional anti-rotation protection can be mounted. It has to be selected depending on the cable cross section.
Protection Cover (1-1991225-X): The protective cover is attached to the cable side. There are different cap sizes for different cable diameters.
Single Wire Seal (1719826-X): This has also to be selected depending on the cable diameter.
